FROM   :    The National Secretary General
RE         :    Congratulations to LOMs which held their Inductions
------------------------------------------------------------

Warmest greetings from your National Secretariat!

Induction season is almost over, said affair is one of the most important and memorable event for a LOM to undertake and to cherished is their annual induction ceremony. This affair is the formal installation of its new officers and in addition to is the taking oath of newly qualified recruited members as well as the ceremonial reception of its future members known as Baby Jaycees.

Since the 2009 National Board took their oath of office during the Natcon in Dipolog City October last year, many of our chapters have scheduled their respective induction which the National President has been invited or other National Officers in lieu of him as their Guest of Honor and Speaker. To make it more memorable is the invitation of other JCI dignitaries and government officials to grace the occasion as guest speakers. Also to maximize merriment and to make the affair livelier and memorable is the attendance of other officers and members from other LOMs.  Accordingly, as part of our leadership training we take this opportunity to manifest our high regards and appreciation to everybody especially the NVPs and NEVPs in leading the practice of correct protocols during said activity.

To date, we are happy to note that almost ninety eight percent (98%) of all our LOMs have already done with their inductions attended by the National President or his official representative. (Please see attached file for reference). At this point, our National President Fulbert C. Woo together with all the equally competent members of the National Board extends their warmest congratulations to all the LOMs that have already held their inductions. We hope and expect everybody will work for the best to attain your respective goals for this year. Whatever accomplishment you may have will definitely help us in towing the line in making a better and stronger JCI Philippines.  Again congratulations!

Maraming Salamat po at mabuhay po kayong lahat!

SUBJECT:   JCI Bed Net Fund Raising Campaign
------------------------------------------------------------

Greetings Fellow JCI Members!

In 2003, JCI adopted the resolution to support the UN Millennium Development Goals (MDGs). In 2004, JCI in Africa and the Middle East decided to focus on projects and activities related to MDGs 1 (Eradicate extreme poverty and hunger) and 6 (Combat HIV/AIDS, malaria and other diseases). In 2008, based on MDG 6, JCI and United Nations Foundation are launched the “JCI Nothing But Nets Campaign” worldwide.

Since then the “JCI Bed Nets Campaign” has been continuously implemented every year in partnership with the United Nations Foundation. Its main objective is to raise funds intended for the purchase of insecticide-treated bed nets (ITN) to be distributed to the children under the age of 5, living in particularly in the Sub-Saharan Africa where malaria has rampant proliferation and is the largest single cause of death among children under the age of five, killing one child every 30 seconds, more than 800,000 per year.
Under this project the “JCI BED NET CAMPAIGN” every NOMs and LOMs are encouraged to help promote this project within JCI organization in order to help realize its goals as specified below;

•   JCI will donate and deliver 1,000,000 Mosquito Bed Nets by 2015
•   Tangible, quantifiable, achievable goal
•   Allows JCI the opportunity to deliver globally its commitment to the United Nations and helping with the Millennium Development Goals

In support to this call to take action today against this deadly and but preventable disease, JCI Members are being challenge to help save lives through the donation of bed nets now as a way of joining the celebration of World Malaria Day on April 25, 2009.
Accordingly, be informed that the Metro Area has launched a similar project dubbed as “Mag Net Tayo” last March 29, 2009 with no less than the JCI WP Jun Sup Shin witnessed the project take off. This is in support with JCI NothingButNet project a global campaign to fight malaria by raising funds to be donated in the affected areas.

In this regard, we would like to solicit your kind attention to do the same and let this project be done nationwide by your extending support with it by encouraging everybody to participate by mobilizing your respective LOMs using networking resources to help in the said fund raising campaign.

Definitely, no matter how small our donation maybe we can help save lives to our fellowmen.  Your generous donations minimum of US$10.00 can be directly made on line thru credit card in the JCI website https://secure.globalproblems-globalsolutions.org/site/Donation2?1340.donation=form1&df_id=1340 & http://www.nothingbutnets.net/its-easy-to-help/user-downloads.html

For more information or details you can browse the JCI website http://www.jci.cc/nothingbutnets/ about said project. Thank you in advance for your kind cooperation and generous support for said project.
