Greetings Fellow JCI Members!
Kindly be informed that this year is our Constitutional Amendment year wherein everyone has the opportunity to submit proposals on the possible changes in the JCI Philippines Constitution and By-Laws. As an initial step in the preparations said upcoming activity your National Board during their 1st Regular NB meeting held last January 10, 2009 passed a resolution to create an eleven (11) men team to composed a Strategic Planning Committee to form a Constitutional Commission wherein six (6) will be appointed by the National President and five NEVPs or their respective representative to compose the said commission.
In this light, it is therefore recommended that such matter be included in the agenda in your respective RCMs and ACMs for the nomination and selection of said area representative to the Strategic Planning Committee. Please take note that priority be given to the NEVP or NVPs but not necessary. However, preferably a Past National Officer of JCI age or whoever you deemed the best among the qualified members in the respective areas.

NSG Cir. No. 4 s. 2009
January 12, 2009
TO : ALL LOM Presidents, NB Members and Key JCI Members
FROM : The National Secretary General
SUBJECT: Re: New JCI Mission/Vision
-----------------------------------------------------
Greetings from your National Secretariat Fellow JCI Members!
This in line with the recent developments that have taken place during the 63rd JCI World Congress held in New Delhi, India last November 2008 wherein the General Assembly voted on the approval of the new JCI MISSION and VISION” per recommendations by the JCI Strategic Planning Committee (SPC). The new Mission and Vision are as follows;
Mission - “To provide development opportunities that empower young people to create positive change”
Vision - “To be the leading global network of young active citizens”.
There maybe some questions about the change on said mission/vision considering its timing or the appropriateness for the JCI organization. On quick view of its perspective it is evident that the new mission and vision did not deviate on the principles from the old one but just its short cut from the former with same substance. The change was then meant to align and to make it more relevant on the battle cry of the organization being a federation of young leaders and entrepreneurs. The new Mission however, does not seek to change the purpose of our organization but rather presents the same concept in a more concise, efficient and easily understood way. The new Mission is easier to relate to and promote, with posterity in mind. The opportunities listed in the previous Mission statement may change over time, but the purpose of JCI’s existence will not. It can now be considered to be more comprehensive on what the JCI organization really look like to all members and to those prospective members who want to join the organization.
Hence, in compliance in promoting and practicing its principles including its underlying values of said new JCI Mission and Vision your National Board during its 1st Regular NB Meeting last January 10, 2009 passed a resolution establishing a policy requiring all the LOMs to recite the New JCI Mission only right after the JCI Creed in all the programs and other similar activities necessary. For more information on New JCI Mission / Vision please visit JCI website at www.jci.cc.
For your compliance and please be guided accordingly. Let’s “Be Better” and be One @ 61.
At your service,
NSG Van Torrevillas
